I just had to join this group so I can poke fun at the whole concept. What are you really doing when you're assessing "investor sentiment"? It seems to me that you're trying to decipher what other investors in the aggregate are thinking at a particular point in time, and you want that point in time to be IN THE FUTURE! Otherwise, what good does it do you? You can EASILY see what investor sentiment has been in the past (and today) by simply looking at market prices. There is NO BETTER indicator of investor sentiment than that!
So now we're looking for "signals" that will tell us what other investors are going to think tomorrow, next week, next month, or even next year! Good luck with that! 🤣 Essentially, what you're doing is trying to time the market. Again, good luck with that! 🤣 Where is any evidence that this stuff works? Where are all the billionaires who got wealthy from it?
What a comical waste of time and energy! But please, anyone who gets rich from delineating future investor sentiment---and acting on it---please post how you did it here and put me in my place! 😉
