Many of us have been paying into Social Security since we were teenagers, but when it comes time to receive benefits, the process is not always straight forward. It turns out you can claim retirement benefits at age 62 or wait until age 70. What are the advantages of claiming as early as possible? What are the advantages of waiting as long as possible? We will cover how full retirement age is determined and what it means for your benefits. We will also discuss how to claim benefits using the earnings of a spouse or a former spouse. We hope to provide a member of the local Social Security office to answer questions.
