The Cleveland Chapter in cooperation with and hosted at the University of Akron, provided The Tools and Techniques Subgroup which bought in various speakers every three or four months. The group discussed the investing environment in various regions or countries around the world. The group viewed videos, presented by Professor John Longo of Rutgers Business school, on "The Art of Investing: Lessons from History's Greatest Traders." After each lesson we discussed the techniques used to make sure we understand them, to see if they were practical for individual use. We hoped to include a simple view of the current investing environment as well as provided a Q&A session at the end, to try to address personal investing questions. The format evolved over time as we try to meet the wants of the regular attendees.
Due to the retirement of our host professor, our ability to meet in person at the University. Some of the topics and ideas are now covered in person at the Cleveland Rich Subgroup and at the Westside Financial Planning Subgroup, which meets both virtually and periodically in person. Meaningful discussions however, may occur in this forum.
