We are finally returning to in-person meetings for the first time since the start of the pandemic.
We recognize both the need to socialize with members and speakers as well as respecting that some members have special health requirements in their families and acquaintances.
We are trying to accommodate all of those needs - please be considerate and wear a mask.
Presentation Synopsis:
One of the major questions in retirement planning is how much retirees can safely spend without prematurely depleting their assets.
Morningstar's director of personal finance and retirement planning Christine Benz will discuss key factors to bear in mind as you develop a safe and livable in-retirement spending rate.
She will also share what current conditions--higher interest rates, declining stock prices, and high inflation--mean for in-retirement spending going forward.
Finally, she'll look at the interplay between your in-retirement spending and your portfolio's asset allocation and share some in-retirement model portfolios.
Attend This Meeting and Learn:
- What the historical data say about safe retirement spending rates
- What current yields and equity valuations suggest about safe withdrawal rates in the future
- How dynamic withdrawal-rate systems can help enlarge lifetime in-retirement spending
- How retirees can use their planned spending to customize their portfolios' positioning
