Presentation:   2022 was a year dominated by inflation, the highest the country has experienced in forty years.  The pain inflicted on the market has been widespread, with indices moving thru the year in a single direction, DOWN.  2023 has given us a market trying to recover, moving in fits and starts, short-lived advances and declines and VIX readings (the market’s anxiety index) all over the map.  Fed Chair Powell opines that inflation is likely to remain with us through 2025.  Are the pessimists right, “… it’s only going to get worse”?  Is building a robust portfolio possible, so that regardless of the scenario that transpires, the attentive investor and her wealth will be protected?

Why Attend?  Learn how an experienced investor approaches an uncertain, inflationary future.  Learn how the investor might assemble a robust portfolio, one that fortifies and protects that hard-earned nest egg.  Is it true that low risk portfolios outperform in the long run because of times like these?

Speaker:  George Conboy hails originally from Providence, RI, but after re-locating, grew up in nearby Webster.  George earned his accounting degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology.  After an initial foray into accounting, George moved to EF Hutton and trained on Wall Street, spending time on the NYSE trading floor when that floor was littered with paper.  George joined Brighton Securities in 1988 and takes pride in the company’s skilled staff and their team approach advising clients.  For many in the Rochester area, George needs no introduction.  He has long been recognized as the go-to guy for local media.  Whenever market or financial commentary is needed, George provides a well-wrought opinion, drawing from years of learning and experience.  Join us in welcoming this popular, engaging, and insightful speaker to our Rochester chapter.
