    Income Investing SIG Meeting

    Frank will review the performance of the Income portfolio starting the new year and identify positions which should perform well going forward.


    10:30 am – noon (Central Time)

    Using an Excel-based analysis tool, Craig will "stress test" a variety of retirement portfolios during the "drawdown phase".  Variables that will be examined include average annual withdrawal and average ending balance after 25 years of withdrawals.  The time frame of analysis will be the 99-year period from 1926-2024.

    The 7Twelve Portfolio model will be briefly discussed and the pros and cons of asset allocation will be reviewed.

    Presentation: A copy of Craig's presentation may be downloaded from the AAII Houston website a week before the meeting.

    Dr. Israelsen holds a Ph.D. in Family Resource Management from Brigham Young University.  He received a B.S. in Agribusiness and a M.S. in Agricultural Economics from Utah State University. 

    He taught at Brigham Young University for 9 years and at the University of Missouri-Columbia for 14 years.   He now teaches as an Executive-in-Residence at Utah Valley University in the Personal Financial Planning Program.  He currently serves on several investment committees in Utah.

    Dr. Israelsen is the developer of the 7Twelve Portfolio (www.7TwelvePortfolio.com) and the author of three books.  His most recent book is titled "7Twelve:  A Diversified Investment Portfolio with a Plan" (John Wiley & Sons, 2010).
