In this session, Charles Rotblut, CFA, of AAII and Doug Gerlach of BetterInvesting will share how each organization approaches dividend investing and how you can uncover new opportunities to generate portfolio income. 

Rotblut will show you how to identify attractive dividend-paying stocks using AAII's nine dividend-focused screens, which scan nearly 1,900 dividend payers across all sectors. You'll learn his key selection criteria for the AAII Dividend Investing (DI) model portfolio, including the importance of seeking growth and reasonable valuation as well as critical warning signs to watch for. He'll also discuss how to find dividend-focused exchange-traded funds (ETFs). 

Gerlach will present BetterInvesting's GARP (growth at a reasonable price) method for finding dividend stocks with strong total return potential. He'll show how tools like SSGPlus help evaluate yield, payout history and income contribution. He'll also spotlight resources like the Dividend Informer newsletter and StockCentral's Dividend Center for uncovering high-quality, income-generating stocks with long-term growth prospects.
