Sept. 9, Saturday Starting at 9:00 AM PT
FIRST SPEAKER: Marilyn Cohen, CEO Envision Capital Management Inc.
FIRST PRESENTATION TITLE:
The Forgotten Virtue of Investment Certainty.
FIRST PRESENTATION DESCRIPTION
Markets are unpredictable. Your income doesn’t have to be. Investors can build portfolios around meaningful contractual cash flows. That means income you see, payments you can schedule, and maturity dates you can plan around. As you get closer to retirement or are already there you should be asking yourself, “What cash flows will I be receiving and when?” rather than “What return can I earn?”
ATTEND THIS MEETING TO LEARN:
1. The ease and simplicity of investing in individual corporate and municipal bonds.
2. The older we get the more cash flow predictability counts. You don’t get that in bond funds.
3. There are steps you can take when something goes “off the rails” in bondland.
FIRST SPEAKER’S BIOGRAPHY
Marilyn Cohen has been in the bond market for 48 years and has seen interest rate cycles, bank catastrophes, credit crises and manmade mayhem. Marilyn was the Forbes bond columnist for over 20 years and is one of the country’s top bond managers. She began her financial career as a securities analyst at William O’Neil & Co. She later moved into bond brokerage at Cantor Fitzgerald Inc. She founded Envision Capital Management, where she is CEO, for the past 31 years. Her company specializes in managing bond portfolios for individuals. Marilyn is on social media trying to teach teenagers and young adults how to invest in stocks and bonds. And that betting isn’t investing!
SECOND SPEAKER: Russell Malley, President, Silicon Valley Chapter of BetterInvesting
