“Estate Planning Essentials: Trusts, Wills, and Protecting Your Legacy” by Tom Godfredson of the Tom Godfredson Law Firm and Jay Robinson-Duff, Vice President and Wealth Management Advisor, First American Trust. Tom and Jay provided an in-depth presentation on core components of estate planning. They talked about Trusts, Wills, Health Care Directives, and Powers of Attorney, while offering practical insights into estate administration strategies. They explained differences between probate and trust administration, and the impact of tax rules–especially relevant to those owning appreciated real estate in California. They also discussed ways to reduce family conflict and avoid litigation through proper planning.
