Tag-on to my November presentation: The U.S. is importing more beef than what is typically normal. Imports through July were up 30% from the same period last year, totaling 3.4 billion pounds. Currently the herd size in the United States remains at the lowest point in 74 years. *A suggestion to import calves could help, but also bring potential diseased calves!
Tag-on To September presentation: Coffee is still up 20% YOY due to weather & tariffs (Brazil @ 50%, Columbia @ 10%, Viet Nam @ 20%). Coffee roasters & importers are now going to Guatemala, Honduras, and Peru for coffee beans,... some are blending with more expensive beans to lessen the cost.
I am expecting doubts to creep into the financial conversation about the potential rate cut in December. If things look "not-so-rosy",... that cut may not happen. There is also a major concern over AI stocks being WAY over-priced and burning through cash without producing efficiencies.
