About this Program:

The term "parallax view", first coined in 1580, defines "the apparent shift in position of an object as seen from two different points." Used by astronomers to vet large distances between planets and stars, it employs the concept of "stereopsis", by which humans reconcile differing perceptions from two eyes in different parts of their head. According to Wikipedia, "stereopsis [is]the process by which the brain exploits the parallax... to gain depth perception and estimate distances to objects."

It's not much of a stretch to translate this to the retirement conundrum. Our perception of the time and distance to a single goal is affected by the place from which we are taking our observations. Our prospects may look very different when calculated during early adulthood, mid-career, late-stage career, approaching retirement and retirement itself.

AAII has factored the parallax nature of retirement planning into its newest premium product, Retirement Investing. Attend this presentation and you will learn:

  • How to define the major life stages in retirement planning [accumulating, transitioning and retired], and determine where you fit in
  • How to deep-dive into our model portfolios to choose the best investments for your planning stage
  • How to exploit AAII's evidence-based investment models to best advantage in your retirement journey
